About
Dr. Patsalos is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a researcher within the Institute for Fundamental Biomedical Research at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. His research integrates cell biology, immunology, and high-dimensional omics to decipher the mechanisms of macrophage subtype specification during tissue repair.
By investigating the transcriptional landscape of myeloid cells, his work aims to uncover how specific molecular "switches" guide the transition from inflammatory to reparative states. These insights are critical for developing novel immunotherapies for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and other chronic inflammatory conditions where natural healing processes are impaired.
