Johns Hopkins Postdoctoral Association Annual Conference 2026: Building Community Across Campuses
Postdoctoral fellows from Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (ACH) and the Institute for Fundamental Biomedical Research (IFBR) recently joined colleagues from across Johns Hopkins for the Postdoctoral Association Annual Conference 2026: Moonshot Thinking: Driving Next-Generation Breakthroughs in Baltimore, MD. With support from IFBR, ACH postdocs participated in the two-day conference, engaging with colleagues across campuses, sharing research, and strengthening connections within the broader Hopkins community. Organized by the Johns Hopkins Postdoctoral Association, the event reflected a collaborative effort among the East Baltimore, Homewood, and ACH postdoctoral associations. This year marked the first time ACH postdocs contributed to the planning and organization of the conference.
For ACH postdocs, the conference offered opportunities for scientific exchange, professional development, and cross-campus connection. The agenda included expert panels, Nexus talks, poster sessions, slam talks, an open forum discussion, awards, and a networking dinner, creating space for postdocs to share ideas, learn from leaders across the institution, and build professional networks beyond their home campuses. Attendees also visited Baltimore landmarks tied to the Hopkins legacy, including the George Peabody Library and Johns Hopkins Hospital, deepening ACH trainees’ connection to Hopkins history, culture, and institutional identity.
Several ACH postdocs contributed to the scientific program through slam talk and poster sessions, highlighting the breadth of discovery taking place at the St. Petersburg campus.

Beyond individual talks and posters, the conference served as a vital community-building event. By bringing ACH postdocs into shared conversations with colleagues from Homewood and East Baltimore, the event strengthened institutional bridges, expanded professional networks, and reinforced ACH postdocs as an important part of the Johns Hopkins research community. The experience underscored the value of cross-campus collaboration and spaces where postdocs can share their work, learn from leaders, and feel connected to the broader Hopkins mission.
